Moms and Daughters and Basketball

I spent a wonderful, quiet night with my very cute mommy (85-years-old – woohoo!) recently. She asked if I wanted to watch a Utah Jazz game with her, and I said, “Sure!”

Okay, so this is really bad of me, but this is the FIRST time I've watched a basketball game with my mom since eleven years ago! I didn't want to point that out to her, or she might feel bad. The last game we watched together was my San Antonio Spurs against her Utah Jazz.

When I watch MY team play, I'm very passionate, just like my a mom is when she watches hers… just as vocal, fists in the air, cheering, stomping and there's even some rage involved! Yes, I guess we're related! Problem is, when you're watching with your beloved mommy... it just gets OBVIOUS that you CAN'T disrespect her team! I wanted to SCREAM bad words at her team, and CHEER crazily for mine! So right then and there I had to take note NOT to watch another Jazz game with her. I have to also point out, that being a Spurs/Pistons/Celtics/Suns and many more teams fan, but severely disliking the Jazz (like how I didn't say hate?), I found it impossible to watch their games, see their home court or even hear anyone talk about them. Pretty bad when you live in Utah, right? And when I'd hear Hot Rod Huntly's voice as the announcer, I'd want to punch someone in the face! I was SO HAPPY when I heard he was retiring!

To sum up the joy of watching the game: I was sitting with my very cute and happy mommy, we were watching some very good basketball, they were playing at Boston - which has the PRETTIEST basketball court in the NBA (wood floor is prettier than most, and green is my favorite color, so soothing and happy). I honestly don't know ANY of the Jazz players now, and there was no annoying announcer named Hot Rod!!! Just two really good teams, beating the crap out of each other! Okay, so my mom did get sort of heated by the end, since the Jazz were getting bloody and the calls were not on their side. But what a fun game!

Note to my Mom: Mom, it's been WAY too long since we watched a game together! I loved watching with you! I can't believe the last time was SO LONG ago! This is all in fun, and my mind just creating, as ususal. Sorry you're offended. I'd NEVER want to make you feel bad. Hope you feel better soon! <3

My Magical Healing Moisturizing Cream

I have been using expensive creams, medicines, soaps and all kinds of other special skin treatments for things such as acne, aging/wrinkles, dry skin and dishpan hands for my entire adult life. I have spent great amounts of money looking for solutions. As I’ve learned more about natural remedies, I have grown to love the benefits of Coconut Oil, Emu Oil and Vitamin E.
This blend of oils is my perfect skin solution! Each of the three oils is used to treat so many of the same skin problems.
This cream is great used as a daily face moisturizer and as a healing night cream.
Here are some of the things this blend helps:
.acne and acne scar prevention
.age spots, wrinkles, premature aging and sagging skin
.psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema, and other skin infections
.athletes foot and other fungi
.bruises, burns, sunburn relief and insect bites
.dry skin, fingernail cuticles and calluses
.itching, razor burns and skin rashes
.scars and stretch marks
.rosacea
It’s simple! You’ll need a small bowl or glass measuring cup and a mixer. I start by whipping the coconut oil for several minutes until it’s fluffy, then I mix the rest of the ingredients in. The recipe is simple:
2 parts coconut oil
2 parts vitamin E Cream
1 part Emu Oil
a few drops of your favorite essential oil (I use lemongrass for multiple reasons)
Since a little of this cream goes a long way, I make a small amount at a time.

For example:
2 tablespoons Coconut Oil
2 tablespoons Vitamin E Cream
1 tablespoon Emu Oil
a few drops Lemongrass Oil

Here are some facts about these oils:
.Emu Oil Studies have proven Emu Oil to be the fastest and most penetrating oil into the skin. See more about Emu Oil
.The small molecular structure of coconut oil allows for easy absorption through the skin, giving it a soft, smooth texture. See more about Coconut Oil
.Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin with antioxidant properties. See more about Vitamin E
.And my love of lemongrass is first, because I ADORE the smell, but there’s more.
Lemongrass is an anti-microbial and anti-bacterial herb. Lemongrass is also fungicidal. The herb also acts as an astringent, which constricts the skin. This helps to minimize pores, limit the secretions of oil and provide a temporary skin-firming treatment.

You can find these oils at health food stores, on amazon.com. For my favorites see:
